Artur Genestre Davis
Artur Genestre Davis (born October 9, 1967) is a former Democratic member of the United States House of Representatives for Alabama’s 7th congressional district, serving from 2003 to 2011. Davis was a candidate for Alabama’s Democratic Gubernatorial Primary, 2010, but lost the Democratic primary to Ron Sparks. In December 2011, he left the Democratic party to become an independent, and he confirmed in May 2012 that he was considering running for Congress as a Republican. In 2012 he became a visiting fellow at the Harvard Institute of Politics.
