Pete Snyder
Pete Snyder is an ideas-driven trailblazer who has a proven track record building businesses and creating jobs right here in Virginia.
Pete isn’t a career politician. He’s an entrepreneur who helped launch an industry that employs hundreds of thousands of people in the United States and around the world. Pete understands firsthand what it takes to create and grow jobs – and now he wants to take that experience to Richmond to help make the Commonwealth a great place to live and work.
Pete’s no newcomer to the conservative cause. He cut his teeth in grassroots campaigns back in ’94 as a foot soldier in Ollie’s Army during Lt. Col. Oliver North’s legendary U.S. Senate campaign in Virginia. Over the years, Pete has been involved in dozens of conservative causes and campaigns and regularly added his ideas and leadership to the movement as a Fox News Contributor. Fox News Founder and President Roger Ailes recently said, “Pete’s been a strong and effective conservative voice for Fox News and America.”
Pete is both a proud alumnus and member of the Board of Visitors of the College of William and Mary. Pete understands the value of higher education and he believes that Virginia needs to lead the Free World in education again, just as it did 319 years ago. That is why Pete will fight for sweeping education reform in the Commonwealth.
A former Division One college wrestler and avid runner, Pete isn’t afraid of a tough fight or a long, hard road. In fact, tough fights are what inspire him. He most recently completed the 2012 Charlottesville Marathon in 3 hours and 40 minutes. Additionally, Pete serves on the Marketing Board of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, the Board of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, the Board of Trustees of Cushing Academy and the Board of Visitors for the College of William and Mary.
Oh, yeah, Pete is also a World Championship certified BBQ Judge,“famous” for his dry rub and pork shoulder. He and his wife, Burson, reside in Fairfax County, Virginia with their dog Elvis.
